Sylcraft  Gemstones -n- Wire !!

Thanks for visiting !!  On this page you will see example of how Gemstones and wire can be combined to make some stunning and unique handcrafted designer jewelry.  No solder is used in the process.  All depends on the skill of the artist in setting the stones into a piece of jewelry.  All pieces are one of a kind.  Some can be made to order to look somewhat like what you will see pictured, but most of the time there will be subtle differences just as in any work of art.

 In the above ring,  you see a Cubic Zirconia Marquise style stone done in a free style wire wrap.  These are very eye catching creations and each is different than the next. 14K Gold Filled wire was used in this setting.  Gold Fill wire is not a plated wire.  There is 100 times more gold in gold filled wire than any kind of plated materials will ever have.  This is a lifetime piece of jewelry as should be all the jewelry done in 14K Gold Fill or Sterling Silver.   With reasonable care these pieces should be heirloom pieces. Here you see an Amythyst stone done in 14K Gold Filled wire.  

Notice how the wires follow the stones natural color design.

When doing a stone in wire and using this techinic it creates a piece of jewelry that will catch your eye for sure !!  

Stones in their natural state are very beautiful.  Gemstones of the quartz family such as this Amethyst tend to have wonderful markings.  Jewelry made this way from this type of stone is hard to find, at least in our area.  

Here is another example of how wire can be used.  

This is a chevron cabachon wrapped in Sterling Silver wire.  

It is a sculpture design and is a wonderful enhancement to any type of cabachon.
